RECS certificate management system

Grexel has provided Austria, Norway, Denmark and Slovenia with a RECS certificate management system, which is used for voluntary renewable energy certificate trading.

The certificates for renewable energy are enrolled and managed with Grexel’s software. The system can be compared to a share account, where shares are managed. The requirements for the system are high, as it has to operate reliably even with 10 000 simultaneous users. 

Since 2001 over 10 million certificates have been issued in the system. Grexel has an active role in maintaining and developing the system further.
